Lookin' good!

Here is my amazing mother on her 60th birthday. (with Tami's also amazing mother)

We "clued" her in for surprise after surprise starting with an adult luncheon at PF Changs in Salt Lake City; Ryan flew in from Iowa and was sitting at the table when Mom and Dad walked in.

SUPRISE!

She was then treated to a pedicure, movie with the grandkids and pizza party back at Tami's.

The next morning we took up 5 lanes of the bowling alley. Sweet Tomatoes followed and then a surprise extended family gathering with cake and balloons.

Each event was preceded with a note/clue telling where to go. It was fun to be sneaky and lead her along. Normally Mom is in charge of the events and surprises. We had so much fun being together. Next time you are in Idaho Falls, stop by and see the book that we gave her showcasing all 22 grandkids and their tribute to Grandma. A big thanks to Tami for hosting everyone and planning said events. A big thank you to Dad who helped orchestrate with his wallet. And most of all, a big thank you to Mom (and Dad) who raised a great family that I can hang out with on special occasions.
Love you Mom.

Time flies on wings of lightning

I have been thinking this line over and over today. Must be one of those shining moments--or my inability to erase the song from my head playlist. This was taken on Mathew's birthday last year. ya--i'm behind, i know. look how happy he is. that--and he likes to ham things up. We had just finished up baptisms for the dead in Idaho Falls. My first time to be with my boys in the temple.

Can't replace these moments. can't even duplicate them. can only improve them while in them.

sobering.

Need more time to think about how to enjoy time more. But I can't get time back. So i guess live as if it's your last moment? but how would any laundry get done that way? JK. My cousin Aubrey totes a great phrase: "be present". must try this more.
