Today marked two very sad/happy moments for me:
1. my oldest passed the sacrament for the first time
2. my baby went to nursery for the first time.
Both occurrences merited both emotions:
1. :( We can't be late for church. Not that we are EVER late for church, but now we have to make sure that we aren't late. (And feel free to give me a little sympathy--our church building is twelve minutes away...yes, even in Idaho.)
Also :( I am feeling old now. How can my skinny little Jonah be in YM already????
I haven't given the deacons much notice since...since I was twelve in church checking out the cute deacons. Now I HAVE a cute deacon up there....sigh.
:) Because I paid attention to the deacons in sacrament today (in between jostling Kami, her shoes that she kept taking off and her wanting to get on and off my lap 20 times) I reflected on the responsibilities of the priesthood. The network and setup of the whole thing. It's really neat. Aren't we lucky that the Lord is in charge and that his power was restored on the earth? It blesses us immeasurably.
2 :) Kami--although so very cute and funny and snugly is a handful in church. Refer to preceding paragraph.
Enough said.
SOOOOOO happy that wrestling with her ends after one hour and ten minutes. WE LOVE NURSERY!!!!
:( :( :( :( my baby is no longer a baby....sniff.
Jonah is in band this year! Saturday he marched in his first parade. Affixing batter-powered lights to a coat and instrument is harder than it looks. Next year we will do better on the lights/costume. We DID execute the perfect parade parking rendezvous plan. (SECRET PARKING!--Avatar). Jonah was proud to call me Mom.

Sounds like it was a bitter sweet day...I'm so proud of Jonah. It truly is an honor to hold the preisthood and pass the sacrament. What a great example he is for the other boys. And my little Kami, oh how I love that girl. I still can't belive she is old enough for the nursery. Seems like just yesterday she loved to have me rock her....not so much these days. She's a DOLL! Thanks for sharing :)
Oh, what a happy day, especially on the nursery front. I can't say I'm not a little jealous. And congrats to Jonah and his new Priesthood responsibilities. What a big day!
wow! those are pretty big milestones in a mom's life....and both in the same day!
happy day for RS and SS...all to yourself (if you actually get in there....)
and marching band...i think that waxed nostalgic there for a moment myself. :)
What great milestones! I was just looking at your boy's birthday pictures and it seems just like last year we were all hanging out with our small boys going out to Cottage Expressions. Its just too sad how time flies by! Cute kids!!
Congrats on Jonah hitting such a milestone, and on being in the marching band! Woohooo! And, battery-powered lights attached to their coats??? I have to get me some of those!!
No sympathy -- sorry -- for the 12 minute drive to church. Growing up it was a 15 minute drive for us, and now on the east coast, it's a 20-25 minute drive for my parents, 30-35 min. in bad weather. But I'll give you some sympathy. But just a little. =)
Oh - and PS -- Kamryn looks JUST like Emma in those pictures. At the first glance, I thought you were posting 1-year-old pictures of Emma, seriously. They are so cute.
I noticed the Avatar comment there - I guess I'm going to have to break down and watch them...
Kristy, isn't it interesting that the Savior entrusts young boys to administer the most sacred ordinance performed outside the temple?
