Onward
Today marked two very sad/happy moments for me:
1. my oldest passed the sacrament for the first time
2. my baby went to nursery for the first time.
Both occurrences merited both emotions:
1. :( We can't be late for church. Not that we are EVER late for church, but now we have to make sure that we aren't late. (And feel free to give me a little sympathy--our church building is twelve minutes away...yes, even in Idaho.)
Also :( I am feeling old now. How can my skinny little Jonah be in YM already????
I haven't given the deacons much notice since...since I was twelve in church checking out the cute deacons. Now I HAVE a cute deacon up there....sigh.
:) Because I paid attention to the deacons in sacrament today (in between jostling Kami, her shoes that she kept taking off and her wanting to get on and off my lap 20 times) I reflected on the responsibilities of the priesthood. The network and setup of the whole thing. It's really neat. Aren't we lucky that the Lord is in charge and that his power was restored on the earth? It blesses us immeasurably.
2 :) Kami--although so very cute and funny and snugly is a handful in church. Refer to preceding paragraph.
Enough said.
SOOOOOO happy that wrestling with her ends after one hour and ten minutes. WE LOVE NURSERY!!!!
:( :( :( :( my baby is no longer a baby....sniff.
Jonah is in band this year! Saturday he marched in his first parade. Affixing batter-powered lights to a coat and instrument is harder than it looks. Next year we will do better on the lights/costume. We DID execute the perfect parade parking rendezvous plan. (SECRET PARKING!--Avatar). Jonah was proud to call me Mom.

Winter Wonderland
This post is dedicated to my BEAUTIFUL sister, Melanie. I got to spend some quality time with her over Thanksgiving. Mostly swooning over Twilight highlights. It was very fun to go see the movie with her (second times for both of us). Here are my favorite things about Smelly:
*not embarrased to take pictures of herself in crazy situations. (Yellowstone Grover--ha ha)
*has a beautiful singing voice and shares it willingly (check it--national anthem solo for HS game)
*has really nice handwriting--considering she is a LEFTY.
*laughs out loud on funny parts of movies
*zaney about life
*mucho musically talented: violin, piano (did I mention she can sing?)
*officianado for many a movie phrase or memorable quote.
*listens willingly to all my dating advice and stories--even though there is a 15 year age gap.
*running/muscle strengthening/all around physical fitness inspiration.
*has really cute hair--and is not afraid of cutting it REALLY short.
*is naturally really tan--lucky dog. And only occasionally rubs it in when in my company.
*tries hard not to be too spoiled considering she is the baby of the family.
*loves her family, the gospel and life.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING Y'ALL!

No, we didn't plan it.
Mathew, my little spark of imagination. Born two years and one day after his brother. Every year the two birthdays always mingle with Thanksgiving--except for 2008. We can celebrate before all the company comes and then party some more over the break!
Mathew is a designer, builder, artist and much more. He loves time to think and create. He is a charmer and gets along easily with those who surround him.
Occasionally impatient with the annoyances of his little sister, he is still obedient and cheerful with only a few reminders from mom.
Passionate about his collections: erasers, Pokemon figures, lego creations, and probably more things still hanging out under his bed.
Happy 10th birthday, buddy!
Happy 10th birthday, buddy!

1.21 Gigawatts!

We love you tons!
I guess I'm getting old
Today I watched my cute Jonah walk up to the front of the chapel to be sustained prior to his ordination to the Aaronic Priesthood. What? Not yet--he's not old enough! I'm not supposed to have a twelve-year old...yet. Well, I do. His birthday is tomorrow. Whether I want it or not.
Because most of my posts center around the littlest Lishling, I decided to focus on the birthday star: my oldest. He has a lot on his shoulders as firstborn but takes it all in stride. He likes the fun things in life and has a ready smile. Except for the nagging from his parents to work harder, he doesn't let much in life bug him. He loves to read, sing, and talk about anything Harry Potter, Star Wars or Avatar. We love you so much, bud. Congratulations on getting your Faith in God award! Good work. (Keep it up).

Ate it Up!!
Oh yes we did!
Briana and I, two hours early for the 10:30 P.M. show--only eight people in line ahead of us. Phase 10 to pass the time.
97% women. A few brave husbands/boyfriends. Lots of disappointed faces an hour later when they saw the line snaking a long ways down the hall, around the corner, past the bathrooms and further. Can you just see the Edward adrenaline surging through the air? A-hem...yes, Edward, not Jacob.
Movie over at 1:10 A.M. We sat there basking in emotional overload euphoria; analyzing, sighing, recapping, sighing some more. Until the theater guy came to collect trash. Rode home with a smile on my face that stayed there until 3:00 until I finally managed to fall asleep. Ate it up and licked my lips too!

Finally getting around to...
Our Halloween acitivities
Grandma Weaver and Amy cooked us up some good grub to go along with the holiday. Applesauce in cauldrons, pumpkin face pizzas, eyeball deviled eggs, and spiderweb taco dip. Yum.
I wore this costume when I was five. Again, thanks Grandma Weaver. So grateful for your sewing talents.
Hollie, is this your costume? Thanks--it's so cute!
